Neutrality and trust policy

Yard Truth earns money when you buy a mower through some of our links. This page is the written commitment that money never touches the recommendation.

1. Rank strictly by fit score. Commission rate never affects a model's score, band or position. The scoring rules are published on the how it works page and applied identically to every model.
2. Disclose affiliate relationships on every report page. Links that may earn a commission are marked with rel="sponsored" and a disclosure sits on every page where they appear, as the FTC requires.
3. Negative results are spec comparisons, not judgments. “Not recommended for your yard because rated 0.25 acre vs. your 0.41” quotes the manufacturer's published figure against your measurement. We do not editorialise about products.
4. Show a non-affiliate option when one exists. Every model lists the brand's own site or a dealer locator alongside affiliate retailers, and non-affiliate links are labelled.
5. No sponsored placements in fit reports. If we ever carry sponsorship, it will live in clearly labelled content, never in a fit report or ranking.
6. Owner outcomes outrank marketing. When enough owners report that a spec does not hold in practice, the observed value replaces the claimed one in our engine, with the sample size shown.
7. Your address is not the product. We use it to measure the lot. Nothing is stored unless you save your profile, and we never sell profiles.
